Set up a default analysis for Cognos series 8.x Analysis Studio

Having the Default analysis set up could be quite convenient sometimes (for example defaulting to some currency or displaying many rows instead of the default 12 with annoying 'More' in the end).



To do that all you need is to create the default analysis and save it into a publicly available folder (package folder will do just fine). Afterwards click on the 'More...' link next to the Properties button of the package. You should get a screen simmilar to this one:


Click on the 'Modify the package configuration...' link and in there you will be able to set up the link to your default analysis. If you have networks that are able to handle more load, you could also increase the values of the Retrieval limits options.

And there you have it- your own custom made default analysis for your Cognos cube.
